3/7/2024 0 Comments Low coolant light saturnHow did you clean the reservoir? Just soaking it? I used the sink sprayer to spray in the sensor area and after that and quite a bit of soaking and shaking got most of the gunk off.Īs far as the difference in the bottom hose temp it may just be that you didn't let the car warm up enough for the thermostat to open.and the next day you did. Any help or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. The problem is I don't know where the wire goes to the fuse box or computer to check it. If the wire to the sender unit is broken or not making good contact then the low light will also come on. Check the coolant level in the radiator and not the reservoir. the coolant light needs water to keep the light off. The red low temperature and coolant light keeps flashing yet all the fluids are topped and new thermostat, engine coolant sensor were replaced. The coolant was drained also. I read in one of these forums that it could be the wiring since the light didn't quit blinking when I jumpered it. The coolant light comes on even tho the coolant is full could it be the fan. Hello all, 1999 Saturn SL1 w/119K miles, auto transmission I have a question. The temperature gauge went to about the midway point but did not overheat. Then, I checked it the next day after driving it and the hose was hot and had alot of pressure on it. After driving the car until it was warm, I checked the bottom radiator hose and the hose was cold. The temperature gauge reads just over the first line so it doesn't appear to be getting hot. I took the reservoir off & cleaned with soapy water & jumped the plug with a spare wire and the light continues to blink (as recommended in these forums). It seems like it comes on after it runs for a minute or two. The coolant level is fine (checked hot & cold). ![]() Hello, I've had a problem with my low coolant light coming on and can't figure out why.
